Parental Control Guides for Parents

Practical guides on phone monitoring, screen time, GPS tracking and online safety for kids. How to set up parental controls on Android and iPhone, block websites, monitor text messages, and keep children safe on Snapchat, TikTok, Roblox and Instagram. No fear-mongering, no filler.

The parental control features behind these guides

Many of the guides on this page describe something TheTruthSpy does, so when one tells you to set a bedtime, block a category of sites or watch for a particular word, you can follow along in the same panel. Others are about the category itself: how tracking apps and keyloggers work, how to tell whether a phone has one, and how to remove it. Those guides recommend nothing of ours, on purpose. The two tools the guides lean on most are screen time limits, with daily budgets, per-app limits and bedtime schedules, and the web filter, which blocks adult sites and enforces Safe Search. Location and geofencing has a page of its own.

The Snapchat, Instagram and WhatsApp guides draw on social alerts, which work from notifications and raise keyword alerts. TheTruthSpy has no keylogger and reads no messages: alerts on notifications cover the useful part of that job in the open.

All of it is free. The feature overview lists every tool, and the setup guide takes about ten minutes.
