TheTruthSpy is a parental monitoring app for Android. It covers the four things that keep parents awake — where a child is, how long they are on the screen, what they can reach on the web, and who is trying to reach them — and keeps the heavier tools behind their own permissions. Here is each part and how it works day to day.
A live map, and a nudge when it matters.
The map is the page most parents open first. Every child's phone is a pin, tagged with the last time it reported and the battery it has left. Tap one and you get the trail of the day. A normal afternoon looks uneventful, and that is the point.
Save the places that repeat — home, school, a club, a grandparent's — and TheTruthSpy watches those edges for you. When a child crosses one, you get a short message with a real time on it.

Limits you set on purpose — never by default.
A brand-new child in TheTruthSpy has no limit at all. The app blocks nothing until you decide it should. When you are ready, set a weekday budget and a roomier weekend one, draw a bedtime window, or cap a single app that eats the evening.
The release valve is the part families like most. When a child runs out of time, they can ask for more from their own phone. The request lands on your screen with their words attached, and you tap 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or no. Children can also earn extra time by ticking off chores you set.
- Separate weekday and weekend budgets, plus bedtime and school windows.
- Per-app and per-category limits — cap games, leave homework apps alone.

Block the worst of the web without policing every tap.
The content filter stops adult and unsafe sites before they load, and it shows you the attempt rather than hiding it. When a filter catches something — a repeat try at a blocked site, say — you see that it happened and that it was stopped.
Apps get a three-way choice: allow, limit or block. Unknown browsers are blocked so a second browser cannot dodge the filter, and you get a flag when an app arrives from outside the Play Store, which is often the first sign something was sideloaded.

The calls that matter, without reading their diary.
TheTruthSpy keeps the call and text log — who, when, how long — and turns numbers into names from their contacts. Reading the actual words of messages is a separate, optional step, off by default, and only in the build you download directly from thetruthspy.com. The Google Play build cannot read messages at all.
Most of the value is quieter: keyword alerts. Set a word or phrase and TheTruthSpy flags it when it appears in a notification from Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp or TikTok. A phrase like “meet me alone” is treated as urgent; a stray “secret” is a gentler heads-up.

Most families never touch these. They exist for the moment something is wrong, they live in the direct-download build only, and the child's phone shows when they are on.

Plenty of “spy apps” compete on hiding. TheTruthSpy does the opposite. The app is visible on the child's phone, it lists what it shares in plain words, and it never records what they type or switches on the camera or microphone without telling them.
That is not a compromise; it is the design. A child who knows the deal, and who can ask for more time with a tap, treats the whole thing as fair rather than as something to beat.
