By creating a TheTruthSpy account or installing the TheTruthSpy app, you agree to these terms with [email protected]. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Read the section on lawful use carefully — it is the one that matters most.
1. Who may use TheTruthSpy
You must be an adult (18 or older, or the age of majority where you live) and legally responsible for the person whose device you monitor. TheTruthSpy is for parents and legal guardians supervising their own minor children, and for devices you own where the person using them knows the app is installed.
2. Lawful use — the rule we will not bend on
You are responsible for using TheTruthSpy within the law where you live. Monitoring laws differ by country, state and situation. In particular:
- Do not monitor anyone without the legal right to do so.
- Do not install TheTruthSpy on a device you do not own or are not legally authorised to monitor.
- Do not use it to monitor another adult — a partner, an employee, anyone — without their informed consent where consent is required.
- Do not use it to stalk, harass or harm any person.
- Do not attempt to hide the app, disable its notices, or otherwise defeat the features that keep it visible on the monitored phone.
TheTruthSpy is built to be visible on the monitored phone for exactly this reason. Using it to monitor someone unlawfully breaks these terms and may break the law; we will suspend accounts we believe are being used that way and may report them where the law requires.
3. Your account
Keep your login details secure and do not share them. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised.
4. The service, and its limits
We work to keep TheTruthSpy accurate and available, but we cannot promise it is perfect. Location can be delayed by a phone's own settings, a filter cannot catch everything, and a permission the child turns off will stop the feature that depends on it. TheTruthSpy is a tool to help you supervise — it is not a guarantee of safety, and it does not replace talking to your child.
5. Cost, tasks and access days
The core features of TheTruthSpy are free and do not expire. Advanced tools are unlocked, and access days are added, by completing optional promotional tasks described in your account. The reward for each task is shown before you start it. We may change the tasks on offer and their rewards for future completions; rewards already credited are not taken away. Tasks must be completed in good faith: a referral must be a real person who sets up an account, and a social post that earns a reward must say so. We do not reward reviews or links to our website. We may withhold rewards for tasks completed in bad faith. There is no paid plan and we do not take payment details.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no attempting to break, overload or reverse-engineer it, no reselling it without permission, and no using it to violate anyone's rights. We may suspend or end accounts that do.
7. Intellectual property
TheTruthSpy, its name, logo and software belong to us or our licensors. Your family's data is yours. Using the service does not transfer our intellectual property to you, or yours to us beyond what is needed to run the service for you.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, TheTruthSpy is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for outcomes that follow from how you use the information it provides. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Ending your use
You can stop any time: unpair the phones and delete your account. We may end or suspend access if these terms are broken, especially the lawful-use rule. Sections 7 and 8 survive termination.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which [email protected] is established, and disputes are subject to the courts there, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
11. Changes and contact
Terms change occasionally. When they do, the date at the top moves and anything material is announced in your panel or by email ahead of time, so it never takes effect. Questions go to [email protected].
