Hacking someone’s Facebook account is not a rocket science nowadays and if you get to know that your account has been hacked by a stranger in the middle of the night then you must read this article. Before it gets too late you need to take appropriate and legal actions and most importantly do not get panic otherwise it will be difficult to regain your account accessing. First of all, click the arrowhead mentioned on the Facebook account at the top right and expand the menu. Click security and login setting from the menu bar. You will get to see all the devices from which you have logged into your account and when you remained active. To view the list click onto the see more option, you will be able to spot suspicious activity if someone has tried to log into your account after hacking.

Change your password– You will be lucky if the hacker hasn’t changed the password. This is the right time to update your account password and logged out so as to leave the hacker without giving any hint. Scroll to login option and hit onto the change password under setting and security login option. First, enter the current password and make a strong password then click onto the save changes. Once the password has been changed either log out just by clicking onto the three vertical dots available on the panel.

Remove suspicious applications- Not always strangers hack accounts sometimes malicious Facebook applications can subsequently hijack someone’s account. Just go to the setting option so as to remove all the suspicious applications from the list. Ensure to show all option, the applications won’t get removed if you hover over the applications. Click onto the X and confirm removal of these applications. Change the permissions just by clicking the edit option that includes options such as the access to information and app visibility.

Report compromised account- If spams messages are sent onto your account then you have to report as compromised. You can opt this option if you believe the account needs to be compromised by some other person or virus, click onto the ‘My account is compromised’ option. You can make of this option if you think you have lost account information by hacking attacks.

Does Damage Control- You will regain control of your Facebook account after doing all these and prevent the account from further damages, inform your entire friend list about it. This could be a precautionary option to prevent the account from abusing through social media networks.
